And Then The Sun Rose: My Reflections in Haiku.

“And Then the Sun Rose”, will take its reader on a spiritual, motivational, and common sense journey using the Japanese poetry style of haiku. Haiku is a poetry style that uses 17 syllables to tell an expressive story with few words. For Centuries Japanese poets have used haiku to tell stories, many of which reflect nature and the changing of seasons. Since its widespread use in western society, we have seen the haiku used to tell stories using a myriad of ideas and themes. The author’s haiku subjects are quite vast, although she does honor the traditional Japanese use of nature and the changing of seasons in some of her haiku. She uses her haiku in an almost self-analyzing manner, to uplift, inspire and validate our humanness. Join Ms. Shabazz on an inspiring journey through her world as she shares her reflections on life, love, and spirit, in haiku.
